There are a bunch of things that we do at Ellicott City Health and Fitness that make our program different. We strive to help first, treat people fairly, and we think in the long term. Out of all the things we do, telling someone we miss them is the most important thing about who we are.

This email is an example of how we approach our relationship with our members.

Subject: Missing you

Hey there, how are you? I know it’s been some time since we’ve talked. I haven’t seen you around in a while. I hope everything is ok.

You’ve made a ton of progress lately, and I really don’t want you to have all that work go to waste.

The time you spent learning new things and overcoming the initial struggle of just getting in on a regular basis was so beneficial to you. I could see a huge difference in you after just the first few weeks. I’m sure you could too.

I know that “life” can get hectic and there are many things pulling you in a million different directions.

Please, please, take care of yourself. I am here if you need help. We can work together if you just need some support, motivation, or whatever it takes to get you back into your routine.

You know as well as I do that when you got to classes at least 3 days a week you felt better and had more energy during the day.

I don’t know how your eating habits are going, but I know when you are eating well it affects all aspects of how you feel, work, and even relate to those around you.

Let me know if you want to talk, or stop by. I’ll be here for you.

Your Coach

As a member of Ellicott City Health and Fitness, you are more than just a swipe card and a monthly membership. Our business is not built on the numbers of people we give access to our facility. If all we cared about was getting members, we’d have a new discount every week, specials every month, and all kinds of incentives to get people to sign up.

Here’s a question for you….

If the gym you go to is focused on getting members first, how much focus is there on getting you to reach your goals?

Think about that. What do you want from your fitness program?

The email at the beginning of this is an example of something I would send to a member that hasn’t been in for awhile. I may send something like it to someone that has canceled their membership for whatever reason. The purpose of the message is to offer a helping hand because we care what happens to people.

We do not want you to join if you aren’t going to participate in the program. It does no one any good to have members not show up. Seriously.

Our programs are based on participation, hard work, learning, and consistency. We do not make money on numbers of members. We make our living by how many peoples’ lives we change.

This is probably the biggest difference between what we do at Ellicott City Health and Fitness and many other fitness services out there. Here you aren’t paying for access to equipment. You don’t just show up to get in a workout and that’s it.

We offer experienced coaching, a staff that cares about your goals, programs designed to meet you where you are, a community of people just like you to help motivate and support you, and a system that is designed to help you see results.

At Ellicott City Health and Fitness, you get “We miss you” messages because we want you know that we care. When was the last time you were missed by your gym?
