Gail is great at being coached. She is very responsive to cues and correcting her movements so that they will be more efficient. Gail is constantly trying to improve and has come a long way with her fitness. I love having Gail in class as she is very positive and encouraging to her fellow crossfiters. ~Coach Mary
What is your sports/fitness background?
I played basketball in college, and softball and basketball in high school. I have always loved participating in beach volleyball and can’t pass an open grassy field without itching to throw a Frisbee or football.
What are your fitness goals?
Just to be more functional in an active, everyday life. I want to be able to haul a heavy bag of mulch or a case of water without worry about hurting myself. Also, I have begun showing signs of osteoporosis, and with my mom’s bone’s “spontaneously braking”, I’m trying to keep from going down that road!
What do you see as your greatest improvement?
I don’t think of progress at ECHF as one “greatest improvement”, but lots of small accomplishments. Every few weeks, as I’m able to slowly increase weights without injuring myself I’m grateful. I’m excited that I can do a handstand (of course it needs to be against the wall…but still far from where I was 5 years ago).
What is your favorite and least favorite workout?
In terms of my favorite and least favorite workout, I like a variety in the work out. I like when there are 5+ different exercises in an EMOM or AMRAP. These days with a knee that’s been speaking to me the lunges aren’t my favorite, and I’m not in love with burpees, but it’s all good!
How has your experience at EC Health and Fitness affected your life?
My experience at ECHF makes me feel a mind and body connection that was missing. It’s great to be focused and in the zone again!
What’s your favorite ECHF memory so far?
The excitement and atmosphere of The Open and being part of a team again!
