Have you ever read something that made you stop and go, “woah”?

I don’t even remember where I read this but I found it in my notes recently with a caption that said, “when you stop you’re not getting anywhere”.

Here it is:

“Obstacles and challenges are not put in front of us to keep us from our dream, they are put there to see if we really want it”

Every time I read this I get chills. I feel like I have to overcome a challenge every day. Being an entrepreneur calls for me to constantly live outside my comfort zone doing things I was never taught, and learning things in real-time.  The mistakes have been plenty and the learning curve is steep. It’s hard every day.

But I do what I can to take a step forward each day because my dream is to help people get healthy and experience life as much as they can. I want to make a difference in the world and my comfort zone isn’t going to keep me from doing that.

You have struggles and challenges every day too. Not only do you have your family and jobs, but you have your own personal goals and dreams of things you want to accomplish.

When it comes to your health and fitness, you know what you need to do and what you should do. In many areas, you may even want to do those uncomfortable things like meal prep on the weekends, get up early for a class, or stretch on the living room floor while you’re watching tv.

The thought process you have when it comes time to make the decision one way or the other isn’t really about what are you going to do, or what’s convenient, or easy, or difficult…. It’s only about one thing. 

How badly do you want to see a change in your life? 

Every time you sit on the couch instead of stretching on the floor, you’re reinforcing movement in the opposite direction of a healthy lifestyle.

Every time you sleep in or make an excuse not to work out, you’re making a conscious decision to stay right where you are.

Every time you have “just one drink”, you’re telling yourself and everyone around you that you aren’t serious about getting in shape. You need that drink more than you need to lose 25 pounds.

This may sound a little harsh. That’s OK. That’s what makes this statement so powerful.

There are no real obstacles or challenges for someone who truly wants something bad enough. That means when you want it badly, you’ll find a way to make it happen. What do you need to do to want more physical freedom, strength, vitality, and happiness in your life?

Whatever you need to do to get excited about improving your health, go do it! 

Listen to this. Really listen…..

There is NOTHING stopping you, but you. 

  • You can be fit. 
  • You can be strong. 
  • You can lose body fat. 
  • You can feel great about yourself again

Sometimes we try and get people to do things before they’re ready. What if you just focused on figuring out why you think you want to get in shape first? Take a minute and really reflect on how your life would be different if you had 20 fewer pounds on you, or you could go hike a mountain whenever you wanted or play a sport with your kids without being afraid of hurting yourself or getting worn out.

How will your life change when you get yourself right? How will your family’s life change? Will your job be affected by you having more energy and stamina?

Will your kids have to take care of you when you’re 60, 70, or 80? Will they have to watch as you slowly wither away, or will you start now and fight age and weakness off for as long as you can?

These are the things that matter. These are the things that will make all your challenges disappear.
